Yes. You should shave the scrotum 3-4 days prior to the procedure. Be careful and avoid using electronic clippers as these can catch the skin. Please do not use any moisturiser/skin product on the scrotum on the day of the procedure

Use alternative contraception until you receive the all-clear.

The only pain you should feel is when the local anaesthetic is injected, similar to a routine vaccine or blood test.
